Home of the Wolverines!

Nodaway Valley
On July 1, 2000, these two districts--Greenfield and Bridgewater-Fontanelle Community School Districts--became the Nodaway Valley Community School District. Patrons voted to consolidate the two districts on September 14, 1999.
The Nodaway Valley School District is located in southwest Iowa in Adair County. The district encompasses 283 square miles, serves approximately 700 students and employs nearly 70 teachers. There are two elementary centers, one in Greenfield and one in Bridgewater. East Elementary is located in Greenfield for students in Grades PK-3. West Elementary is located in Bridgewater for students in Grades 4-5. Middle school students--Grades 6-8--are located in Fontanelle and high school students are located in Greenfield. Our school mascot is the Wolverine, and our school colors are purple, black and silver.
Community Support
On January 27, 2004, Adair County voters approved the SILO tax 1,064-144. The additional penny in Adair County will generate approximately $335 per student. The revenues may be used for construction, reconstruction, building repair, debt reduction, school busses, technology and playground equipment. The Board will decide on a spending plan with input from the community. Some of the priorities that have been discussed include fire and safety expenditures, school busses, athletic facilities, technology, roof repair, energy conservation and property tax relief.
Sports Complex
A new track and renovated stadium was put into use during the 2005-2006 school year. The $627,000 sports complex project was completed with community fundraisers, private donations and SILO tax funds.
